Still, there’s no way (as far as I know) you can delete ALL twitter direct messages at single click, via twitter’s very own website. But thanks to third party website and some good coders and developers out there because they are able to create a good site or program that do the trick (mass delete twitter direct messages) in few clicks.
Before, I am using DM Whacker to do the deletion for me. DM Whacker is an easy to use and very light weight tool. Simply drag the link (bookmarklet) that’s in the DM Whacker website to your Firefox or Safari bookmark bar, navigate to your direct messages, click the bookmark and select your options to delete your DM’s once and for all. The tool allows you to delete all of your messages, or just messages from certain friends.
But since twitter do changed some of their codes, layouts and everything to do with how they handle tweets and messages, DM Whacker is not working great just like before. Aside from that, DM Whacker do only work at the twitter OLD layout. That being said, it’s no more use for you and me anymore. But I must say thanks to the little tool! An awesome journey I have with it.
Now, I am using DM Cleaner to clean up and delete all messages at my direct messages box; both sent and received DMs. It is a great tool, pretty fast and easy to use as well. It lets you delete your twitter direct messages all at once (both sent and received) or delete the sent ones or the received ones only.
* When you delete a message from your Sent mailbox, it will delete it from the recipient’s Inbox.
* Direct messages are all included at the total number of tweets you made. So if you delete your direct messages, expect your number of tweets to go down.
From DM Cleaner Website:
DMCleaner allows you to handle your Twitter Direct Messages far more easily than the website does.
In a few clicks, you can purge all of your DM, or even delete only some of them (if you are a DM emo).
I am assuring you that DM Cleaner is the best or one of the best in terms of mass deleting twitter DM in few clicks. Try it out and tell me how’s your experience with it.
