It’s official! Google announced that Google+ comments are now available for blogger blogs. Here are some important benefits that you will surely enjoy upon enabling or activating it.
Blog and Google+ Comments In One Place!
All Google+ comments that talks about your blog or a certain post will appear at your blogger/blogspot blog. Talk about Google+ social engagement to the highest level.
Comment And Connect At Once!
Your blog readers have lots of choices in terms of posting their comment up. They can choose to comment publicly or privately (the comment they posted will be seen by people within their Google+ circles only). With that kind of options, it can lead to great social engagement thus giving you more potential traffic.
Comments Can Be Shared At Google+ Profile Simultaneously!
Your blog visitor or reader can comment at your blog post and at the same time, share your post with their comments at their circles. They can do this by just allowing the comment to be posted at their Google+ profile or wall as well. Something a Facebook commenting system can give right? With that, your article or post can reach more people or wider audience. More traffic for you and your blog!
Aside from the above benefits, for sure there are more to come. I mean, Google and Google+ will surely don’t stop improving their services online. For more information about this Google+ comment announcement and steps on how to set it up, check out this blog post at Google’s Official Blog.
Many webmasters immediately jumped in and started configuring their blogspot/blogger blogs to show and use Google+ comments. It was quite easy to do so but many are facing some sort of problems because of the customized template they are using. The Google+ comment widget is not showing up and worst, some of the already posted or made comments at their articles are gone/hidden from bare eyes after enabling the said application.
Well good thing we already found a good fix for it. If you are facing problems with your Google+ comment application, read the quick fix below.
1). Go to Blogger.com >> Template >> Edit HTML >> Format Template.
2). Search for the code :
In case there are 2 or more instances, choose the last one and below it, paste the following code:
<div class='cmt_iframe_holder' data-viewtype='FILTERED_POSTMOD'xpr:href='data:blog.canonicalUrl'/>
I hope the above simple fix can cure the problem of your Google+ commenting system. Enjoy! 🙂
NOTE: If you are having trouble with the codes above, for example, blogger blog gives you an error or something when saving it, just replace or re-type all apostrophes (‘) manually after pasting them at your template editor. That should fix it.
