As we all know, Facebook chat application implemented a major update and changed how the said chat application behaves. Many Facebook users are crying out loud to Facebook developers to give them some hint or pointers how to permanently delete their Facebook chat history both at the chat application and messages inbox.

Today, while I am checking out and testing out ways to permanently delete Facebook chat history from the Facebook chat application itself and permanently delete the messages from my Facebook messages inbox as well, I find this solution the best of them all. It is fairly easy to do and easy to follow. The below steps will just take you 3-4 minutes to complete (oh that depends on your internet connection by the way, it may take less than that for other countries with faster internet speed, yeah I am kinda ranting about our internet speed in here).

Here are the exact procedure, along with their corresponding images for you to be able to permanently delete Facebook chat history – both at the chat application and messages inbox.

Step 1). Click at your friend’s name (the person whom you have conversation with and you wanted that conversation deleted forever)  from the chat application window.

Step 2). Click the gear icon you see from your friend’s chat window.  Click see full conversation. This will bring you to your messages inbox wherein your conversation with your friend is being stored and saved.

Step 3). Then click action. Click delete messages. Click delete all. Done.

After doing the above steps, Facebook will take you into your messages inbox with a blank page.

You can check if the above steps works for you by doing the step 1, 2 and 3. If it works, Facebook will simply display a page containing the message “Send a message to start your conversation with [Your Facebook Friend's Name].”.
